![]() ![]() The Bolt seems to draw the expected 30amps at public 208v Charge Point charges for 6.2KW, and I assume it could draw the full 32 Amps or 48 Amps with the appropriate 240v charger. Maybe someone copied the old gen1 Volt's code somewhere into the Bolt? This would be similar to our long since sold gen1 Volt that was limited to 3.3KW on the Clipper Creek at 240v/13.75 Amps, similar to the public charging for 3 phase at 208v*16Amps, which is also 3.3KW. So my tentative conclusion is that somewhere in the Bolt's programming, the Bolt is limited to 3.3KW at 240v unless the charger supports 30amps or 32amps. From this whole house data, the Volt consistently shows about 8% more power than the Bolt on the Clipper Creek! Whereas I was expecting the reverse, that the Bolt at 16 Amps would show 6.7% more power than the Volt at 15 Amps. Sure enough, the Clipper Creek charging the gen2 Volt is consistently drawing a smidge over 3.6KW, when I subtract the average standby power, and when charging the brand new Bolt EUV it is drawing a smidge over 3.3KW when I subtract the standby power. We have a whole house smart meter and I got the data by carefully looking at the entire house charging for both cars when they were charging in the middle of the night. In fact, it appears to run at 13.75 amps or 3.3KW! on the 2022 Bolt EUV our clipper Creek LCS-20 never gets 16amps/3.84KW. So usually, on the gen2 Volt the LCS-20 runs at 3.6KW. On our gen2 Volt the Clipper Creek is limited to 15 amps charging and 16 amps when the gen2 Volt battery is cooling. The Clipper Creek is rated at 16 amps 240v which works out to 3.84KW. I have my Clipper Creek LCS-20 which was purchased for use with my 2017 gen2 Volt, which we still own. ![]()
